Clavan (Clamhan) Scottish Gaelic meaning for a Buzzard. This glorious bird of prey is a protected indigenous species and its protection has allowed the population of Clavan to soar in the last decade. We decided to name ourselves in honour of this powerful bird which has managed to reclaim the land and survive against all odds.
